Whether it is a first time garden or diversification of an already productive landscape our consultations are tailored to your goals and site potentials. Designer Michael Judd who leads all consultations is able to ‘read’ landscapes quickly and bring to life numerous approaches and options that make your landscape more productive, ecological and beautiful. His perspectives and varied experience lay the framework that result in successful and enjoyable projects. Michael is also an avid natural builder using an array of natural materials to create harmonious spaces, with a strong focus on clay and lime plasters.

Consults are up to two hours and run $250 plus travel expenses from Frederick, Maryland. This cost just covers your time with Michael going over your site, follow up material is not included. Ongoing design work is charged by the hour.
For sites further out than an hour or those wanting to learn from our site we offer consultations at our homestead in Frederick, Maryland @ $250 for a two hour consult.
Install
We are a full service design/install business meaning that we bring to life fruitful designs with a skilled and experienced team. This may be single stage or multi-stage projects. We also welcome participatory involvement and learning from clients as designs are installed. Quotes for installs can be sent following consults.
We were inspired by what Ecologia saw in our back yard on their first visit.
Where we had overgrown trees and a forgotten garden, they saw new beds full of vegetables and fruit. Now, we have raspberries, blackberries, and currants growing on a fruit fence trellis …the design makes it easy to walk through the beds, tending the plants and watching them grow. The whole family has become involved in planting seeds, caring for the plants, and harvesting the food.

What seemed to be an overwhelming challenge was made simple and easy with Ecologia’s help in restoring a long-abandoned fruit orchard and establishing a permanent kitchen garden.
Now I have the confidence I need to continue to prune my trees effectively and have begun a food forest in the orchard with apples, peaches, pears, berries and herbs growing side by side companionably… I will be reaping the harvest of my investment with Ecologia for many years to come.
